About Black Top Mojo
A hard-driving Southern rock unit based out of Palestine, Texas, Blacktop Mojo's fiery blend of post-grunge, classic rock, and metal falls somewhere between Soundgarden, Black Stone Cherry, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Founded in 2012 by front-man Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis, the band eventually morphed into a five-piece with the additions of bass player Matt Curtis and guitarists Ryan Kiefer and Kenneth Irwin. They released their debut album, I Am, in 2014, followed by a heavy bout of touring that saw the group sharing the stage with a wide array of heavy hitters, including Bon Jovi, Sammy Hagar, Candlebox, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Shaman’s Harvest, Pop Evil, Puddle of Mudd, and Drowning Pool.
In 2017, the band teamed up with Muscle Shoals producer Jimmy Johnsonfor their highly anticipated sophomore outing Burn the Ships. The album was released via the band’s label, Cuhmon Records, in March of that year to critical acclaim, and it’s first single, “Where The Wind Blows” reached #27 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, while the band was on its first U.S. tour that fall. Through that tour, they landed a slot on 2018’s Rock Fest, featuring headliners Disturbed, Incubus, and Godsmack, among many other industry leading hard rock acts.
At the beginning of 2018, the band has started work on its third full length release, as well as touring to support the second radio single from, Burn The Ships.

Behemoth is a Polish extreme metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground.
Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of Satanica, the band demonstrated their presence in the death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno, multi-layered vocals and Middle-Eastern influences. Despite Behemoth having been labeled as death metal or thrash metal-influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he does not like the band to be labeled.
Bands Current Lineup
- Adam "Nergal" Darski – lead vocals, guitars (1991–present)
- Zbigniew "Inferno" Promiński – drums (1997–1999, 2000–present)
- Tomasz "Orion" Wróblewski – bass, backing vocals (2003–present)
- Patryk "Seth" Sztyber – guitars, backing vocals (2004–present)

I got the chance to photograph Canada's own metal band Kobra and the Lotus. Kobra and the Lotus formed in 2009 by lead vocals Kobra Paige. The band has grown in the past few years and also got signed to Napalm Records. There band has gone through a few changes in the lineup over the years but Kobra Paige has remained the main stay and the beating heart of the band. The bands sound is just as kiss ass as a metal fan would imagine. Kobra's vocals are melodic with a vocal range that keeps in momentum with the hard hitting guitar riffs. She brings and enthusiasm to the stage which for me is always nice to see. Watching an artists enjoy there creation in front of a crowd makes the show and experience more enjoyable. The band does not falter with energy when on stage. Each band member using their instrument of metal to create a fluid and dynamic connection with the crowd. So basically, the band is fucking really good! They are currently on tour to support there new release off of Napalm records. You can click the links below to find out more information about the band. Don't miss the opportunity to see this band live, you will leave wanting more.
