LANY LIVE!! | RITZ MUSIC VENUE

Lany brought the love to opening night of his tour called “a beautiful blur” which had its first show at the Ritz Music Venue in Raleigh NC on 02/13/24.  He pulled a two-night extravaganza with a big stage set up, light show and confetti.  We covered his show on the 13th and it was a packed house.  We have covered Lany before when he had a tour stop at the Redhat Amphitheater in Raleigh a few years back and that show was incredible, we have no doubt that this show would be just as good.  When walking into the venue you could see this “T” shaped stage extending from the main stage out into the crowd.  Lany is known for engaging with his fans during his performances so I can see why they chose to use this kind of set up.  This would allow Lany to really engage with his fans while performing.  Before the show started there was a large current obscuring the stage and you could hear the excitement amping up as fans were waiting for the lights to dim and the curtain to drop.  I even had a young woman standing behind me unable to contact her excitement as she was getting ready to see him come out.  Once the lights dimmed the place went wild with fans screaming.  Before the curtain dropped, they shot out a large amount of stage smoke to create an ambiance for Lany to walk out too, but to be honest it was way too much at first.  You could not even see Lany when he walked out onto the stage the smoke was that thick.  After about 10 minutes the smoke finally dissipated and Lany was fully visible.

The show was great, and Lany performed with a fun filled energy while always making sure to engage with his fans.   With each song he sang you would hear the echo of music fans singing along with him.  Some fans had signs up confessing their feelings, and another fan tossed him a bracelet, or some kind of necklace and he caught it.  He also took out a non-reusable 35mm camera, took some pictures of the crowd and then threw the camera into the crowd.  I don’t know if he got it back or whether there is a fan out there cherishing that camera.

Lany is always great to see live.  His shows are full of energy and his connection with his fan base is truly engaging.  It is a fun show to watch and if you are a Lany fan you don’t want to miss this one.
