SCOTTY MCCREERY LIVE!! | DPAC CENTER

On February 1st, at the DPAC in Durham, a sold out crowd was waiting to get in to see local hero Scotty McCreery. But first, Greyland James opened up the show and was wonderful. It's really cool to see a singer/songwriter perform and to hear some stories about who they wrote for or with and the hits that they do together. He was great and got the crowd ready for the next artist, Anne Wilson.

Now, Anne Wilson is young, but what an old soul. Her voice is amazing. Her songs were nothing short of great. And her story about one song she wrote, The Seventh of June, left everyone with tears. It's about her brother, who they lost to a car accident. There wasn't a dry eye in the place. Also, her faith is no question. An absolute amazing person and show. She commands the stage and engages the crowd the entire time. The crowd was singing along with her to many of her songs. I caught myself tapping my foot, tapping my hand on my hip, and enjoying myself. I was personally shocked at how good she was and how great her songs are. She gave back stories to some songs, how they were written, who she has written with and for, and it was really cool to hear. You don't get to hear the back stories all the time. A definite show to catch if she's close to you.

Then, Scotty McCreery came on stage and the roar of the home crowd was so loud. You want to talk about someone who takes the stage, Scotty McCreery definitely takes the stage during his show. He did not stay still, making sure to cover every inch of the stage while performing so everyone could see him. He has a number of songs that were number one that he played and played a few new songs from his upcoming album, Same Truck. The crowd sang along with Scotty McCreery most of the show and really enjoyed the new songs. His band is awesome too. Honestly, there was nothing bad about his show. The entire time, the crowd was engaged, people singing and smiling, and a very family friendly show. Everyone left the sold out DPAC smiling and happy.

If you get a chance to see this tour near you, do it. You will not be disappointed. Well worth the ticket.
